On road trips, my kids would make up new words to songs, and that's what led to this endangered species counting book, which is a take-off on the Twelve Days of Christmas holiday song. Instead of "On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…" this version's refrain is, "In the first hour of Earth Day, my true love saved for me." Created by the incredibly talented Peter Grosshauser, the lush, vivid illustrations add a playful spin to this book that supports species survival.
